Arrival begins at the grand entrance, where an oversized wooden door sets the tone for what lies within. Soft white upholstery, tactile natural materials and abundant greenery keep the spaces light and grounded, while vintage-inspired furniture and Indian accents lend a sense of familiarity and character.
At the heart of the main level, an entry foyer dressed with curated Indian pieces leads into the central living spaces. To the left, the main living room unfolds beneath a dramatic double-height ceiling finished in bamboo matting. Oversized glass windows flood the room with natural light and frame views of the garden. A floor-to-ceiling fieldstone wall anchors the space, illuminated by a classic wrought-iron chandelier that balances contemporary form with old-world craftsmanship. Adjacent to the living area, the dining space overlooks the front yard, with the private pickleball court framed by the tea garden beyond. Stone accents lend texture to the space, while the generous dining table invites long, unhurried meals prepared in the nearby, fully equipped guest kitchen. Further along this level, a sauna and jacuzzi create a dedicated space for relaxation, making it easy to wind down without stepping outside the comfort of the house.

Spread across two levels, the four bedrooms at Windermere Bungalow comprise one on the ground floor and three upstairs. Each is designed as a quiet, sun-filled retreat, with a distinct personality of its own and a shared sensibility that balances contemporary comfort with timeless Indian character.
Handpicked Indian wall paintings, bespoke artwork and considered furnishings sit alongside warm wood, neutral textiles and handcrafted accents. Generously proportioned layouts, open-frame and poster beds, and an uncluttered approach to decor allow the rooms to feel airy and grounded. Rather than following a uniform template, each bedroom brings together materials, colours and details that give it an individual character.
Upstairs, two of the bedrooms open onto private balconies, offering secluded vantage points over the surrounding greenery and misty tea gardens. Large glass openings across all four bedrooms invite natural light inside and bring the green canopy into view from the moment you wake. A full breakfast is complimentary for our guests.

We follow a hybrid meal plan - where we charge INR 1000/- per meal as cooking charges and food supplies bills are passed on to the guest at actuals. You are served el fresco in the garden or in the cozy dining space.

We request all our guests to inform the staff about their meal preferences well in advance. Zomato readily delivers meals to the door from many of the popular cafes around town within 30-40 minutes.

A barbecue soirée can be organised on prior intimation.

Rooms are offered on double occupancy up until 06 guests. If there less than 6 guests, rooms will be allocated accordingly and other rooms will be kept locked. We can accommodate 2 more guests beyond 6 guests on extra mattresses.

Electricity: Electricity is usually not a problem, however, being at an offbeat location, if there is an unprecedented power outage, we have power backup to keep the lights and some power points running. This might also offer you an opportunity to switch off and gaze at the starry night sky. We promise you will not regret it.

Please note that like any other home in the hills, we do not have an air conditioner at the property. The house has been designed in such a way that there is proper wind circulation if the windows are opened in the afternoon. Besides, we also have ceiling and pedestal fans if you feel the need for the same.

Stop by its independent cafés and old-world bakeries, wander through the botanical trails of Sim’s Park, or drive to Lamb’s Rock and Dolphin’s Nose for dramatic views across the valleys. For a different perspective of the hills, board the heritage Nilgiri Mountain Railway or make a day trip to Ooty, with its lakes, gardens and winding mountain roads.
Back at the bungalow, evenings are best left unhurried. Gather around the table for a long meal, linger over chai as the light fades over the tea estates, or simply watch the clouds roll across the hills from the comfort of the living room.
