Tucked away amid the blissful natural surroundings of Tangmarg, about 40 km from Srinagar and 14 km before Gulmarg, Hushstay x Olive Chalet is a 02 bedroom chalet that redefines snug luxury and promises wonderland charm. Lose yourself in the narrow lanes, revealing the rich history of this quiet village. As you step inside the private estate that also houses Hushstay x Cheese Cottage, you will find yourself engulfed by wildflowers, fruit trees, and a gentle water stream originating from the Drung River.
An A-frame cabin, with skylights in every room and oversized windows, unveils a captivating landscape that transforms with each season. Every corner, from quirky decor to vibrant pops of color, invites you to escape to nature's arms.
Please note: Hushstay x Olive Chalet is part of a private estate that also houses another 02 Bedroom Unit called Hushstay x Cheese Cottage. Couples or smaller groups (upto 06 guests) can opt for either Olive Chalet or Cheese Cottage while bigger groups (07 - 12 guests) can book both cottages together.

As you step into this mountain refuge, the architecture seamlessly transitions from the exterior grandeur to curated interiors that echo a boutique European charm from the 80s. The living room on the ground floor consists of a Chesterfield-style leather couch with the backdrop of a nature-inspired wall and surrounded by unique touches from a bygone era.
The design ethos gracefully transcends boundaries, extending seamlessly from the living room to the two bedrooms on the ground and upper floor.

The bedroom on the ground floor adjoins the living area and a staircase leads from the living area to the second bedroom. Each room boasts hot/cold AC, Wi-Fi, and an attached washroom with all modern amenities.

We have an in-house caretaker/cook who will take care of your meal preferences. Lunch / Dinner are available on prior notice.

Meals are prepared by our in-house chef and are made of delectable homemade local cuisine. Both Vegetarian and Non-vegetarian options are available if you are ordering from the in-house menu.

Hushstay x Olive Chalet is located away from all the hustle-bustle of the popular hill-stations in a small village called Tangmarg with the same premises as Hushstay x Cheese Cottage.

Gulmarg - 14 kms / 30 mins
Drung Valley - 4 kms / 10 mins
Doodhpaathri - 60 kms / 02 hrs

We are pet-friendly. If you are coming with your pet, make sure they are well-mannered and that nothing gets broken.

Sustainable Travel: We are very conscious about nature and we would like our guests to feel the same way. We try to reduce the use of single-use plastic as much as possible. Our drinking water comes from an RO and refillable water bottles are provided in each room.

We follow a strict no smoking policy inside the house. You may ask the caretaker for an ashtray and smoke outside the house if you need to.

This place is offered exclusively to only one group at a time, the price varies depending on the number of guests. Please select the exact number of guests while booking.

The 02 bedrooms can comfortably accommodate up to 04 guests and extra mattresses can be provided for extra guests.

Summer days are pleasant here, no fans are required and if you keep your windows open, there is enough air circulation. Geyser and a Hot & Cold AC is provided but will not work in case there is a power outage.

Cancellation Policy:

Date of booking - 31 days before arrival : 25 % cancellation fee on the total booking amount.

AROUND THE OLIVE CHALET
Explore the wonders of Tangmarg throughout the seasons, each bringing its own beauty. From clear blue skies in summer to colorful wildflowers in spring, red chinar leaves in fall, and a snowy wonderland in winter.
Enjoy a relaxing walk or a 15-minute bike ride along Ferozapora Nalla, leading to a charming picnic spot by the Drung River. A bit further, discover the Drung waterfall, a frozen marvel in winter. Our caretaker can arrange for a friendly local guide to take you on delightful day hikes in the Drung Valley.
For some excitement, try an ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) ride to the Drung Waterfall, available for hire in Tangmarg's main square.
A quick 30-minute drive brings you to Gulmarg, and the lesser-known Doodhpaathri, with its vast meadows and pine trees, is just a two-hour drive away.
