Nestled deep within the embrace of the Kaudia Range at 7200 ft, Hushstay x Garhwal is an exclusive 02 bedroom stone cottage that invites you to forge a deep connection with the natural wonders that surround it. As you embark on the short 5-minute uphill walk towards the cottage, leaving the hustle and bustle behind, you enter a realm of pure serenity: The air feels crisper, the scenery more enchanting, and an indescribable sense of tranquillity washes over you.
Time slows down at this intricately refurbished century-old house that is an architectural beauty in itself. Set in the midst of terraced wilderness, at just about 40 km from Mussoorie and 70 km from Rishikesh, this place feels like a different world altogether.

Built upon the foundation of a 100-year-old traditional mountain home, The Garhwal showcases the timeless beauty of laying flat stones upon each other, forming walls that exude rustic allure. Within its cosy embrace, you will discover a meticulously crafted interior, where traditional architectural elements intertwine with contemporary elegance. The large French windows frame panoramic views, inviting nature's magnificence to seep into the living space gracefully.
Split across terraced fields, the outdoor spaces beckon you to shed the trappings of modern life and find solace in the embrace of nature's wonders. A gazebo sits on the lower level and is ideal for a hearty breakfast with a view or to unwind in the evenings.

THE ROOMS
Each of the two rooms of this minimalistic but snug house is designed for quietude and comfort, marked with understated elegance that blends in with the sights and sounds of its surrounding forests. Massive glass windows usher in plenty of natural light, while stone and wood trap the warmth indoors. One of the rooms overlooks the majestic Sarkanda Devi Temple while the other room offers vistas of snow-covered Himalayas on a clear day.
The ample stone work carries on into the bathroom, and compliments its contemporary fittings.
Beautifully crafted wooden furniture including floating beds and tables shaped from driftwood, handpicked copper jugs and flasks, cosy bedspreads and rugs, the warm glow of lamps, and world maps that adorn the walls to fuel your wanderlust, all enhance the feel-good factor of your stay at The Garhwal.

Only Breakfast is included in your booking. Other meals can be ordered at the property.

Meals at Hushstay x Garhwal are prepared by our in-house caretaker and are made of homemade local cuisine.

If you have any special requests, please make sure you inform the staff 24-48 hrs in advance so that it can be sourced in time. A barbecue setup can be arranged subject to availability on prior request.

Nearest Railway Station – Dehradun at a distance of 70 Km. Nearest Airport – Jolly Grant is at a distance of around 80 Km. We can organize a cab for a pick-up and drop from Dehradun railway station or Jolly grant airport.

Rishikesh - 65 km / 2 hrs
Mussoorie - 45 km / 1.5 hrs
Tehri Dam - 25 km / 01 hr -
The house is perched on a hillside and requires a moderate 5 - 10 minute uphill hike. There is a designated parking area and our staff will help you out with the luggage.

Slow and soft music is okay, but please do not play loud music. You are in the middle of nature.

We allow pets but please make sure that nothing is damaged or broken.

We follow a strict no smoking policy inside the house because it leaves a bad smell for the next guests. You may ask the caretaker for an ashtray and smoke outside the house if you need to.

Both rooms are alike and are offered on double occupancy up until 04 guests. We will offer extra beds if you are a group of more than 04 guests

Please note that like any other home in the mountains, we do not have an air-conditioner at the property. The Garhwal has been designed in such a way that there is proper wind circulation if the windows are opened in the afternoon.
