Designed by Phylosophy Design Studio, the bungalow unfolds like a contemporary hillside home deeply rooted in the Nilgiris, blending high bamboo-matted ceilings, warm wooden textures, woven elements, and expansive glass openings that keep the mountains and plantations constantly present within the space.
Thoughtfully designed as an exclusive retreat for a single group, the home balances openness with intimacy. The upper floor houses the third bedroom while the ground floor forms the social heart of the bungalow, housing two bedrooms alongside expansive communal spaces designed for togetherness. Sunlight drifts gently through the large living and dining area where comfy seating, earthy interiors, soft lighting, and handcrafted details create an atmosphere that immediately slows you down. A cosy TV lounge tucked into the space invites long movie nights and unhurried evenings indoors, while the fully accessible kitchen remains open for guests who enjoy cooking, gathering, or simply making the space feel like their own home in the hills — all while the team quietly takes care of every detail around you.
Beyond the interiors, landscaped lawns unfold into multiple outdoor seating spaces scattered thoughtfully through the gardens — cosy verandahs, traditional khaat-style lounging chairs overlooking the plantations, an intimate gazebo sit-out, and the striking glass dome that becomes its own experience altogether. The three bedrooms at Hushstay x Vente Colline continue the home’s quiet language of warmth, comfort, and connection to the hills. Designed with earthy wooden textures, soft lighting, handcrafted details, and floor-to-ceiling windows, the rooms feel calm, airy, and deeply restful, blending the warmth of a boutique homestay with the comfort of a private villa — spaces where the scenery quietly becomes part of your everyday experience.
The two bedrooms on the ground floor open directly into the gardens, with the tea estates stretching just beyond, allowing mornings to begin with mist drifting softly across the hills. Upstairs, the third bedroom offers a slightly more private retreat, complete with its own balcony overlooking the rolling plantations and Nilgiri valleys beyond.
One of the rooms features a beautiful four-poster bed that adds a subtle old-world charm to the otherwise contemporary interiors, perfectly reflecting the home’s balance of warmth and simplicity. Across all three rooms, private sit-outs and uninterrupted views create spaces meant for slow mornings, afternoon naps, long conversations, and the simple comfort of feeling completely at ease in the hills.

A full breakfast is complimentary for our guests.

We follow a hybrid meal plan - where we charge INR 1500/- per meal as cooking charges and food supplies bills are passed on to the guest at actuals. You are served el fresco in the garden or in the cozy dining space.

We request all our guests to inform the staff about their meal preferences well in advance. Zomato readily delivers meals to the door from many of the popular cafes around town within 30-40 minutes.

A barbecue soirée can be organised on prior intimation.

Rooms are offered on double occupancy up until 06 guests. If there less than 6 guests, rooms will be allocated accordingly and other rooms will be kept locked. We can accommodate 2 more guests beyond 6 guests on extra mattresses.

Electricity: Electricity is usually not a problem, however, being at an offbeat location, if there is an unprecedented power outage, we have power backup to keep the lights and some power points running. This might also offer you an opportunity to switch off and gaze at the starry night sky. We promise you will not regret it.

Please note that like any other home in the hills, we do not have an air conditioner at the property. The house has been designed in such a way that there is proper wind circulation if the windows are opened in the afternoon. Besides, we also have ceiling and pedestal fans if you feel the need for the same.

Outside guests are not allowed during the stay. The property is only accessible to guests who have booked with us.

You can also explore Ooty for the day, visit Sim’s Park, or spend an afternoon around Dolphin’s Nose soaking in panoramic valley views.

Our stay at Vente Colline was unforgettable. The interiors are gorgeous and thoughtfully put together, seamlessly blending modern luxury with a grounded, mountain feel. Having our high tea inside the garden dome while it lightly drizzled outside was straight out of a movie. The next day we setup a picnic in the garden and went to Cafe Diem for lunch. We were here with our 6 month old daughter and it was perfect! George was always around with a smile if we needed anything, but gave us complete privacy. We will absolutely be back.

Came here with a group of friends and it was the best decision. The house is so spacious, and the aesthetic is right out of a magazine. George is an absolute gem—he helped us navigate the area, kept the place spotless, and made sure we had everything we needed. We loved that we had the option to hit up the local bakeries nearby for breakfast, and then just order food in via Zomato for dinner so we didn't have to leave the property at night. Having dinner cooked by George was the perfect way to end the day.

If you want to experience the real Nilgiris, stay here. You can literally walk out of the backyard and straight into the tea gardens. Waking up to that view from our bed with a hot cup of coffee was surreal. The beds are dangerously comfortable, by the way—it’s genuinely hard to leave the room! It really embodies that ‘slow living’ vibe. Just pure comfort, fresh mountain air, and absolute relaxation.
