THE EXPERIENCE

"If we could see the miracle of a single flower clearly, our whole life would change." - Buddha.

Nestled amidst the serene beauty of the Dhauladhars, Hushstay x Daya Meher offers a tranquil retreat that blends heritage charm with modern comforts. Just 3 km from the bustling McLeod Ganj, known for its vibrant cafes, eclectic shops, and the revered Dalai Lama's residence, this cottage is the perfect escape for those seeking peace and inspiration.

Surrounded by wild pear, cherry, oak, willow, and deodar trees, Daya Meher is a sanctuary where you can do everything or nothing at all. Whether you're an avid birder, a trekking enthusiast, or someone who simply enjoys the quietude of nature, Daya Meher promises a rejuvenating experience.

Imagine sipping your morning tea on the verandah, watching the clouds shift and change colors over the valley as the sun rises. Spend your afternoons strolling through the lush garden, talking to the birds, or exploring the many treks around. As the day ends, unwind in the sunroom, basking in the warmth of the evening sun or enjoying the cool breeze through the lush canopy of trees in the garden.

The cottage's name, "Daya Meher," meaning "compassion" and "kindness or grace", perfectly encapsulates the spirit of this enchanting abode.

Here, you will find not just a place to stay, but a space that invites you to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and experience the profound tranquility that only nature can offer.

THE SPACE

A stay at Daya Meher is like stepping into a world where history and nature converge. The cottage is a beautiful example of traditional Himachali architecture, featuring thick stone walls to keep it cool in the summer and warm in the winter and a slate roof that blends seamlessly with the natural surroundings.

The living room, with its high ceiling and oversized windows, offers panoramic views of the garden and the valley beyond, blurring the lines between indoors and outdoors. Plush carpets, creative wall hangings, and comfortable sofas make this room a cozy haven for relaxation and contemplation.

The dining area, adjacent to the living room, offers a quaint space for enjoying meals, while the verandah and sunroom provide perfect spots for soaking in the stunning vistas.

The sunroom, with its floor-to-ceiling French windows, offers the same breathtaking views as the verandah but with the added comfort of an indoor space, making it ideal for summer evenings and winter mornings.

Outside, the garden invites you to enjoy alfresco dining under a Chinar or pear tree, with a menu that includes delicious vegetarian and egg dishes, reflecting the owners' love for animals.

THE ROOMS

Daya Meher features two beautifully appointed bedrooms that promise a restful and rejuvenating stay. Each room is designed with a minimalist aesthetic that emphasizes comfort and tranquility. Plush beddings, study tables, and carpets enhance the cozy ambiance, while oversized windows flood the rooms with natural light and offer captivating views of the surrounding landscape. Both bedrooms have attached washrooms, ensuring convenience and privacy.

One of the bedrooms opens up to the verandah and the garden, where you can enjoy your morning tea or an evening drink while gazing at the ever-changing colors of the sky above the Kangra Valley. The other bedroom is connected to the sunroom, providing a cozy space to relax with a book or simply enjoy the serene views in comfort. The high-quality linens and thoughtful amenities in each room ensure that you have everything you need for a comfortable and memorable stay.
