Hushstay x Ilika is an earthy retreat shaped by the warmth of natural materials and the quiet honesty of the land around it. Wood, stone, mud, and brick come together in a way that feels grounded and comforting, creating a space that is simple, spacious, and deeply connected to nature.  Sunlight filters through wide openings, softening the interiors and giving every corner a warm, airy ease, the feeling of a home that breathes with its surroundings.
 

Just outside the retreat lies a serene man-made pond, a reflective sheet of water home to freshwater species like Rohu, Katla and Nain. The pond is not just ornamental; it forms part of a thoughtful, sustainable rhythm. The private pool, located away from the 02-bedrooms and attached to a separate living area, is filled with fresh water sourced from the farm.
Once drained, this water is directed back into the pond, oxygenating it naturally and nourishing the ecosystem without any wastage.
 

Surrounding the retreat is the true heartbeat of Ilika, the family’s multi-generational farm. Here, traditional farming flourishes with sugarcane, wheat, paddy, peas and mustard growing in harmony with the seasons. Mango and litchi orchards add their own quiet charm, while agri-forestry plantations of poplar and eucalyptus stand tall across the land. Every field, every grove, carries the care of three generations who have lived and worked with the rhythms of the soil.
 

The two bedrooms of Hushstay x Ilika sit together on a single private level, side by side, designed as intimate sanctuaries with earthy finishes, mud-textured walls, wooden elements and uncluttered décor. Each opens to sitout corners facing the pond and fields, allowing nature to feel close yet peaceful.

The living room and pool area are intentionally set in a separate zone of the property — a short walk across the lawn — ensuring guests have privacy in the rooms while also enjoying a dedicated communal space for gathering, lounging and slow afternoons by the water.

Across the retreat, verandas, garden paths and quiet seating nooks encourage slow moments, sipping chai by the pond, listening to birds at dawn, wandering through orchards, or simply pausing to watch the light shift across the fields. Everything about Ilika feels rooted: in nature, in family, and in the belief that simplicity, when cared for with intention, becomes its own kind of luxury.
