The Oakridge unfolds as a series of spaces designed for slowing down and spending time together. A sprawling 3,500 sq. ft. lawn, framed by two gazebos and a central fountain, sets the tone for long, unhurried days—sunlit breakfasts, themed outdoor evenings, and bonfires that naturally stretch into the night. Around it, quieter pockets of the home invite a slower rhythm: reading corners to retreat into, sunlit verandahs that shift with the time of day, and cosy seating spaces made for conversations, pauses, and everything in between.

THE SPACE
Hushstay x Oakridge unfolds like a warm mountain villa designed for gathering, slowing down, and quietly immersing yourself in the landscape around it. Built with slated roofs, wooden ceilings, and rich wooden flooring throughout, the villa blends traditional mountain architecture with a more contemporary sense of openness. As you enter the home, you are welcomed into a large living and dining space where earthy tones, handcrafted furniture sourced from different parts of North India, vintage accents, and Indian-inspired décor come together to create a space that feels both elegant and deeply rooted in craft. Oversized glass windows allow natural light to move gently through the interiors, while thoughtfully placed seating corners invite long conversations, quiet reading moments, or evenings spent around the fireplace.
The ground floor also houses one spacious bedroom featuring an ensuite bathroom with a bathtub, designed as a private retreat within the home itself. Moving upwards, the first floor opens into three additional bedrooms, each spaciously designed with warm wooden elements, contemporary comforts, and ensuite bathrooms featuring bathtubs. One of the doors further opens up to a private jacuzzi framed by lush fields and higher mountains in the distance.
Ample seating spaces across the floor, balconies overlooking the 360-degree valley, and a terrace that opens to snow-covered peaks on clear days ensure the outdoors always remains within sight.
Stepping outside, the home extends into a sprawling lawn framed with gazebo seating areas, a fountain, and open spaces designed for shared family moments, slow breakfasts, themed evenings, or simply listening to birdsong in the quiet hours of the morning. Elements of Indian artistry continue outdoors as well, with details like Pichwai-inspired artwork along the garden walls lending the space a subtle Rajasthani character amidst the mountains.

THE ROOMS
The four bedrooms at Hushstay x Oakridge are designed as quiet personal retreats, where warm interiors and mountain stillness come together effortlessly. One bedroom is located on the ground floor, while the remaining three occupy the first floor, allowing every room to feel connected to the surrounding landscape. Each bedroom comes with an ensuite bathroom, thoughtfully designed with modern amenities, bathtubs, and details that elevate slow living in the mountains.
Vintage-inspired décor, handcrafted furnishings, warm wooden textures, and vibrant colour palettes bring character into every room, while still maintaining a calm and restful atmosphere.
Large windows frame shifting mountain light through the day, allowing the outdoors to remain a constant presence within the space. One of the bedrooms further opens into a private balcony overlooking the valley, creating a quiet corner to begin slow mornings or unwind as the mountains fade into dusk.

Electricity: Electricity is usually not a problem, however, being at an offbeat location, if there is an unprecedented power outage, we have an genset as power backup to keep the lights and some power points running. This might also offer you an opportunity to switch off and gaze at the starry night sky. We promise you will not regret it.

We were a group of 6 friends looking for a spot where we could just catch up, listen to music, and chill without dealing with the usual hill-station traffic, and this place was an absolute jackpot. It’s located a bit ahead of Dalhousie in the Chamba area, so it feels incredibly peaceful and totally cut off from the crowds—just massive green lawns, pine trees, and crazy mountain views all around.
The house itself has so much character. It doesn't feel like a standard commercial rental; the woodwork is stunning and it has this unique, slightly old-school artistic vibe inside that feels super premium but still cozy. Honestly, we barely left the property for three days. Our mornings were spent just lounging on the grass by the fountain, and the indoor jacuzzi was an absolute lifesaver in the evenings when the mountain air got really cold.
Mr Rishi and the team on-site completely spoiled us. They set up this amazing outdoor dinner with candles on our last night, and the food was insane—they made everything from local comfort food to great pastas and pizzas. If you’re traveling with a close group of friends and just want to disconnect, listen to the wind, and be pampered, skip the crowded hotels and come here
