Located in a small village called Jalna (Almora) away from the hustle-bustle of the city, Hushstay x Sukoon, a One bedroom Kumaoni cottage is all that you need to let yourself go.
At Hushstay x Sukoon Homestay, your day starts with the melodious chirping of birds while the first rays of the sun fall onto the stone walls and slate roofs of your private cottage. Your breakfast consists of local Kumaoni Cuisine.
The rest of the day is filled with soulful experiences. Take a walk through one of the near by villages, explore the local kumaoni culture. At the end of the day you are served locally home-cooked food and snacks alongside a bonfire and some light music while you dazzle yourself under a starlit sky! A trained staff consisting of a caretaker and a cook caters to all your needs with utmost attention.

THE ROOMS
At Hushstay x Sukoon, we have refurbished the interiors of an authentic Kumaoni house to match the existing surroundings. The slate roofs are made of locally found stone called "Pataal" and big chunks of stone make up the thick walls of the house thus keeping the home warm in winters and cool during summers. The old-style stone and wooden architecture adds more ground to earth ingredients to the beauty of this place. The serene, simple and comforting interiors soak your soul deeper into the silence and solace giving you reasons to forget the stressful life and embrace a new and rejuvenated self.
The bigger suite room is located on the first level of the house and has an ensuite bath and toilet. There is an additional smaller room on the ground floor that is a converted goat room, with a low ceiling height only meant for extra guests in case the number of guests exceeds 02 guests. The ground floor room while being smaller in size is much cosier and has a private bath/toilet outside of the room. Each room has its own private entrance and both rooms overlook the majestic himalayan peaks such as Nanda Devi and Trishul in the distance.
When you book with us, you will have the entire place to yourself. Our cook / caretaker will leave no stone unturned to make sure you have a great time.

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE BOOKING
Meals:

Only Breakfast is included in your booking. Lunch, Dinner and Evening Snacks are can be purchased and paid for at the property itself.

Meals at Hushstay x Sukoon consist of local home-made Kumaoni Cuisine. The meals depend on the raw material available locally.

We have a caretaker and an in-house cook and the kitchen is made for their use only. We do not allow guests to carry outside food or raw material for cooking.

Please ask our caretaker about what can be prepared on a particular day depending on what is available locally.
Getting There:

Sukoon is located about 30 kms from Almora Town. Nearest Railway Station – Kathgodam at a distance of 85 Km. Nearest Airport – Pantnagar is at a distance of around 118 Km. We can organize a cab for a pick-up and drop from Kathgodam railway station or Pantnagar airport at an additional cost.

If you are driving – it is important that you have experience in hill driving as the last 01 Km to the house is a dirt road.

Slow and soft music is okay, but please do not play loud music. You are in the middle of nature.

Services of the staff are available until 10:00 PM. Dinner will be served before 10:00 PM.

We are pet-friendly. If you are coming with your pet, make sure they are well-mannered and that nothing is damaged. In case, there is damage, the same will have to be paid for at the time of checkout as per actual costs.

We try not to harm the environment as much as we can and hence the wood for the bonfire has to be purchased beforehand. There is an additional cost of INR 500 per bonfire session (02 hours). Please note that if it has rained the previous day, sourced wood might be wet and bonfire might not be arrangeable. We provide refillable water bottles in each room, bottled water can be sourced on prior request at an additional cost.

This place is offered exclusively to only one group at a time, the price varies depending on the number of guests. Please select the exact number of guests while booking.

The entire place is offered to just one group at a time. In case you are more than 02 guests, we can place extra mattresses in the same room or offer you the smaller room on the lower level has a low ceiling height of about 7 ft.

The suite room has an ensuite washroom while the smaller room does not have a washroom attached.

Please note that like any other home in the mountains, we do not have an air conditioner at the property. The thick stone walls keep the place warm in winters and cool in summers.

The Weather: The temperature is similar to that of Almora, only a little lower since we are surrounded by lush greenery. There is a good 4G connectivity for Airtel and Jio users, unless the weather is bad. A JioFi dongle can also be arranged on request.

AROUND HUSHSTAY X SUKOON
As the name suggests, Hushstay x SUKOON is all about peace and tranquility. A place where you can let go of everything and spend time doing nothing at all.
Laze around on the hammock, read a book or gaze endlessly at the snow-covered peaks in the distance. Hike up to the hilltop to watch the most blissful sunset and get a 180-degree view of the surroundings. Explore the nearby villages and an old British bungalow on foot.
If you'd like to head out, you can drive down to the famous Dol Ashram or to the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary for a jungle safari, Kasar Devi for the views and cafes and Almora town for the local sweet dish called "Baal Mithai".
