The older we get, the harder it becomes to simply be together. Everyone has somewhere to be, something to do, a calendar that needs attention. And so there is something precious about a few days when none of that matters. When friends can pick up where they left off, families can forget the clock, children can run free, and everyone can simply be present — together.
As you turn into a smaller village road just off the main road leading to Candolim Beach, the landscape begins to change. The traffic
fades, coconut palms rise above old village homes, dense greenery replaces the bustle, and the road eventually leads towards the Nerul River. Candolim is just 2.5 km away, while Baga and Anjuna are around 10 km — close enough to dip into the beaches, cafés and energy of North Goa whenever you feel like it, but far enough to return to a quieter corner at the end of the day.

THE SPACE
Casa Calma is a house of contrasts. Outside, laterite gives it an earthy, almost monolithic presence. Inside, the walls seem to dissolve. Glass opens the house to the garden, different levels flow into one another, and the distinction between being indoors and outdoors becomes wonderfully unclear.
Part of a small community of villas, Casa Calma occupies a generous corner along the Nerul River. The moment step through its entrance into your own private world, the mood shifts. At the centre of it all is the living room, a generous, light-filled space framed by glass on almost every side. The garden, the pool and the changing Goan light become part of the room through the day. The interiors are contemporary and design-led, with clean-lined furniture, patterned upholstery and considered details, but there is nothing overly formal about them. The greenery beyond the glass softens everything.
A level below, the open kitchen and dining area feels more intimate — the kind of space where meals take longer than planned, someone is always making another coffee and conversations continue well after the plates have been cleared. Large windows keep the garden and the pool in view, making the outdoors feel like an extension of the room.
Then there is the garden: expansive, green and distinctly tropical, with the private pool at its centre. A riverside gazebo and quieter corners towards the back create different places to spend the day, whether it is breakfast in the open air, an afternoon by the pool or a barbecue as the evening settles over the Nerul River. THE ROOMS
The feeling of openness at Casa Calma continues into the bedrooms, though here it becomes quieter and more personal. Warm wood, white walls, natural light and touches of colour through patterned textiles create spaces that feel contemporary without ever feeling overly designed. Large windows and glass doors keep the garden and greenery within view, making even the quieter moments of the day feel connected to the outdoors.
The four bedrooms are spread across two levels, each with a slightly different relationship to the house. The ground-floor bedroom opens directly onto the garden, while the bedrooms above look into the living space through oversized internal windows, bringing a sense of connection even when you have retreated to your room. Two of the bedrooms also have private balconies — little places to step out into the air, watch the light change and take in the green surroundings.
The bathrooms continue the home's clean, contemporary language, with generous proportions and an emphasis on light and openness. Two of the bathrooms take this a step further with an open shower.
There is an easy simplicity to the bedrooms. Nothing competes with the landscape outside or asks for too much attention. You wake to the light coming through the windows, open the curtains to the garden, take your time getting ready and let the day begin when it feels like it should. A full breakfast is complimentary for our guests.

We follow a hybrid meal plan - where we charge INR 1500/- per meal as cooking charges and food supplies bills are passed on to the guest at actuals. You are served in the cozy dining space.

We request all our guests to inform the staff about their meal preferences well in advance. Zomato readily delivers meals to the door from many of the popular cafes around within 30-40 minutes.

A barbecue soirée can be organised on prior intimation.

Rooms are offered on double occupancy up until 08 guests. If there are less than 8 guests, rooms will be allocated accordingly and other rooms will be kept locked. We can accommodate 2 more guests beyond 8 guests on extra mattresses.

Electricity: Electricity is usually not a problem, however, being at an offbeat location, if there is an unprecedented power outage, we have power backup to keep the lights and some power points running. All rooms are equipped with ceiling fans and air-conditioners.

THINGS TO DO
AROUND HUSHSTAY X CASA CALMA
Casa Calma is made for days that don’t need much of a plan. Start with a morning by the private pool, spend the afternoon in the garden, or settle into the riverside gazebo as the light begins to soften.
When you feel like stepping out, Candolim and Sinquerim beaches are around 10–15 minutes away, while Fort Aguada is about 15 minutes. For food and drinks, House of Lloyd is just 5 minutes away, and The Second House, set within a beautiful old Goan home, is around 15 minutes away. The Museum of Goa is also just 10 minutes away for an afternoon of art and culture.
For a livelier side of North Goa, Baga and Anjuna are around 10 km away, while Assagao offers cafés, restaurants and a quieter village atmosphere. And when you want to wander a little further, Panjim is around 30 minutes away.
Or simply stay home. Sometimes the best plan is having nowhere to be.

What we loved most was the balance. Casa Calma is close enough to explore North Goa, but once you are inside, it feels calm and removed. The stone, wood and glass work beautifully together, and every room has a view of greenery. We had long breakfasts, lazy afternoons by the pool and dinner outside. It was one of those places where nobody wanted to make a plan. The perfect get together with friends from India and Europe.
