THE EXPERIENCE

"Nature is painting for us, day after day, pictures of infinite beauty if only we have the eyes to see them" - John Ruskin

Beyond the familiar hill roads of Shimla lies Sainj, a quiet Himalayan village where endless apple orchards, winding mountain roads, and a gentle river stream shape the rhythm of everyday life. Located just 50 kilometres from Shimla and a scenic 2.5-hour drive from Solan, this peaceful offbeat corner of Himachal feels wonderfully removed from the crowds, making it an ideal mountain escape for couples seeking privacy and stillness.

Hidden within a private apple orchard, Hushstay x Hakushu is an exclusive A-frame cabin where every moment is designed around the landscape beyond its glass walls. Mornings begin with birdsong drifting through the trees, afternoons are spent wandering through the orchards or a stroll along the nearby river stream, and evenings lead to a private outdoor jacuzzi overlooking the valley, as an orange sunset slowly gives way to velvet skies.

Whether you arrive during apple blossom season, crisp autumn mornings, or snow-covered winters, Hakushu is a place where luxury is measured not by excess, but by privacy, silence, and the freedom to simply be. Designed especially for couples, it is a sanctuary where time slows, conversations deepen, and the mountains quietly become part of your story.

Please note: Hushstay x Nikka (02 BR) & Hushstay x Hakushu (01 BR) are part of the same estate. Each of them can be reserved as an intimate standalone retreat for couples or small families seeking complete privacy, or together for larger celebrations and meaningful gatherings amidst nature.

THE SPACE

The naturally takes the outdoors inside, where Hushstay x Hakushu embraces the same quiet simplicity as the landscape around it. This has been designed to disappear into the orchard rather than compete with it. Inspired by, harmony, and balance, the architecture allows nature to remain the home's defining feature, making it one of the most unique design-led cabins near

The cabin unfolds across two levels in an open, uncluttered layout where the kitchen, dining area, and cosy living space come together beneath soaring twenty-foot ceilings. A traditional cast-iron fireplace anchors the interiors, while the dramatic 20 ft tall all-glass triangular façade frames uninterrupted valley views, filling the home with changing mountain light throughout the day. Step onto the private balcony for your morning coffee, settle beside the fireplace on chilly evenings, or simply watch the orchards sway with the breeze.

At just a few steps from the cabin, the private outdoor jacuzzi deck offers one of the home's most memorable experiences. Perched to overlook the valley, it becomes the perfect place to unwind beneath open skies, whether surrounded by apple blossoms, drifting clouds, or the silence of a Himalayan evening. A handcrafted wooden staircase leads to the mezzanine-style bedroom, where a low bed dressed in premium linens faces the mountains through the soaring glass façade. A thoughtfully positioned workspace, fully equipped kitchen, two well-appointed bathrooms, and the care of an in-house cook and caretaker ensure every stay feels effortless while allowing the landscape to remain the true luxury.

THE ROOMS

Hushstay x Hakushu truly is an extraordinary private retreat that has everything you need and nothing you don't. The entire house follows an open layout which means there are very few walls inside the house except for those that make up the Washrooms / Bath. While there is always a caretaker/cook at your service, the kitchen is fully equipped in case you would like to prepare some delicacies yourself.

Adjoining the kitchen is the cosiest corner of the house consisting of a traditional cast iron fireplace and comfortable sofas. All of it overlooks the all-glass front that also opens up to a private balcony that is the perfect place for a morning coffee.

A wooden staircase leads to the bedroom on the upper floor consisting of a low bed with high-quality beddings, a TV and a study table/workspace. There is a washroom on the upper floor as well as a bigger washroom with a bath on the ground floor.
